During this unprecedented COVID-19 pandemic the work of NAMI Jacksonville and NAMI affiliates across the nation has never been more important than now.
National hotlines are exp major increase in calls for support. We know that this is a very difficult time for many people across the country. As we all deal with the impacts of the Coronavirus outbreak, we have seen how important our programs are and we remain committed to ensuring that people with mental health conditions and their family members have the information and support they need to weather these uncertain times.
I wish to thank our all of our wonderful volunteers, supporters, and donors who enable us to do this very important work. I am honored to celebrate NAMI Jacksonville’s accomplishments during 2020, a very difficult year, and celebrate all the strides we have made as a community and as a nation to talk about mental illness, to encourage people to find help, and live in recovery without shame. There is more work to be done to break down the stigma and reach more individuals, but for right now, I’d like to thank ALL of our program volunteers who have stayed with us and provided support to our community while they deal with their own families, fears, and uncertainty during the pandemic. They put the community first above their own to support those who are struggling and who needed NAMI the most. We especially honor our 2020 NAMI Jacksonville Hall of Fame Recipients. On behalf of NAMI Jacksonville, THNAK YOU!
