NAMI Sharing Hope

NAMI Sharing Hope

NAMI Jacksonville's Sharing Hope is a 3-part conversation series created by members of the Black/African ancestry community, for Black/African ancestry community members who are interested in individual and community mental health and wellness.

Did you know?

  • The suicide rate among Black youth has been increasing faster than any other racial/ethnic group.
  • Only 1 in 3 Black adults in need of mental health treatment receives it.

NAMI Sharing Hope uses facilitator-guided conversations, videos, and the sharing of sacred stories to examine the challenges around Black mental health, wellness and coping strategies, and create safe, supportive, healing spaces within the community.

Different segments are available for Black Families, Youth, and Community Leaders. Materials can be adapted to different settings -- from churches to barber shops to large celebrations, and more.
