NAMI support groups are a safe place to share experiences with others who understand. Our peer support groups are for individuals living with mental health conditions. They are led by trained facilitators who have lived experience.
NAMI support groups are a safe place to share experiences with others who understand. Our family support groups are for family members, caregivers and friends of people living with mental health conditions. The groups are led by trained facilitators who have lived experience.
NAMI Ending the Silence presentations are designed for middle and high school students, school staff, and/or adult family members of students, to create awareness about mental illness, the warning signs of mental health conditions, and how to get help for themselves or a friend. There are two trained presenters: one who presents factual information, and a young adult with a mental health condition who shares their journey of recovery. Audience members can ask questions to get a better understanding.
In NAMI In Our Own Voice presentations, trained volunteers with lived experience of a mental health condition, talk candidly about their experiences. These presentations are designed to change attitudes and assumptions about people with mental health conditions.
NAMI on Campus clubs work to end the stigma that makes it hard for students to talk about mental health and get the help they need. Clubs hold creative meetings, hold innovative awareness events, and offer signature NAMI programs through partnerships with NAMI state organizations and affiliates across the nation.
NAMI Jacksonville's Helpline provides information, guidance and compassion to anyone in need of non-emergency mental health resources. The Helpline is staffed by trained volunteers with lived experience, who check voicemail and email once daily, and respond to inquiries within 24 hours. Learn more about the Helpline
NAMI Family-to-Family is an 8-session class designed for families, caregivers and friends of people living with mental health conditions. Taught by trained volunteers who are family members with lived experience, the classes consist of presentations, discussions and interactive exercises that teach participants skills and strategies for caring for someone with a mental health condition.
NAMI Peer-to-Peer is an 8-session class for adults living with with mental health conditions, who are want to better understand themselves and their recovery. The classes are taught by trained volunteers with lived experience, and include activities, discussions, and videos.
